The Insurance Institute of Canada administers licensing exams on behalf of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO). Exams may be written online using a virtual proctoring service or in person at an Institute examination centre.
You also have an undergraduate degree and are working in the industry, or you have five years of insurance experience and an ACIP You want to build on your existing accomplishments and develop a broader and deeper understanding of p&c insurance in Canada
There are two types of Institute membership. • Local membership is open to everyone in the p&c insurance industry whether you have a designation or are simply interested in taking a webinar with us.

General insurance agent/broker licences As an agent or broker, you help consumers choose the right insurance coverage to protect their cars, homes, personal belongings and businesses.
Government-issued photo identification. Students must present original, valid (not expired) government-issued photo identification (passport, Canadian driver’s licence, health card, Permanent Resident card) for identity verification before they can write their exam.
