Our workplaces, and the world around us, are evolving quickly. Awareness of neurodiversity is growing, and most of us are impacted by it, directly or indirectly. "Neurodiversity" is a broad umbrella that reflects the natural variation in how human brains think, learn, process information, and interact. In this introductory session, Shoshana Allice, Neuro-Inclusive Leadership specialist, will share practical insights, foundational definitions, current research, and real-world examples to help participants better understand this important and rapidly growing area of knowledge — and why it matters. Understanding neurodiversity helps organizations improve communication, reduce risk, strengthen team performance, and better support both employees and clients. In this webinar, participants will explore: Clear definitions of neurodiversity and neurodivergence, including AD(H)D, autism, AuDHD, and giftedness — and commonly co-occurring experiences such as learning differences and mental health challenges The "constellation" of common neurodivergent traits and differences, including sensory processing, cognitive styles, executive functioning, communication preferences, and social dynamics Why neurodiversity matters in the insurance profession — for individuals, teams, leadership, recruitment, client relationships, and workplace practices (including accommodations and adjustments) Real-world stories illustrating how neurodivergent traits show up in everyday work life, helping participants recognize and interpret behaviours through a strengths-based, human lens This 90 minute session will include a 15-minute question period.
