2016 National Leadership Awards - Recognizing Industry Leaders for a Sustainable Future

Can you name a strong leader who deserves widespread recognition for their professional contribution to Canada’s property and casualty insurance industry? Strong leadership is critical so organizations and the industry remain sustainable for the future.

As predicted in the 2012 demographic research report, the p&c insurance industry is starting to experience a shift in the workforce as senior leaders are exiting and new workers are entering. Without identifying emerging and established leaders, the transfer of knowledge and skills will be lost.

The CIP Society’s National Leadership Awards recognizes two very important roles of leadership in the industry with the Emerging Leader category and the Established Leader category.

The National Leadership Awards program honours CIP Society graduates, many of whom are influencing how the p&c insurance industry is responding to key challenges and emerging issues today, like changes in demographics and the way we use data and technology.

“The Insurance Institute is proud that the CIP Society’s National Leadership Awards has honoured 32 leaders to date – 14 Established and 18 Emerging leaders,” says Peter Hohman, president and CEO of The Insurance Institute of Canada. “Certainly, the industry has many more talented people worthy of recognition.”

The National Leadership Awards were launched in conjunction with the CIP Society’s 10th anniversary celebrations in 2008. The annual awards recognize industry professionals making outstanding achievements within their organizations, the industry at large and within their communities. Award winners elevate the public profile of the entire p&c industry by exemplifying excellence in their roles.
