A Day in The Life: MGA

Thursday, February 17, 2022 1 - 2.15pm ET

A panel of speakers will provide a deeper understanding of the unique role the MGA plays in the world of p&c insurance.

Music Festivals. Social media hackers. Large Yachts. Hazmat storage sites. F1 races. How many insurance files for coverage like this come across your desk in a week? For most in the p&c sector, the answer is few, if any. How do businesses falling outside of the typical risk scenarios get coverage? Enter the MGA. MGAs (Managing General Agents) analyze high-hazard, high-complexity, and high-value business risk. As demand increases for specialized risk coverage and products, those in the unique role of the MGA can provide tailor-made coverage that would otherwise be unavailable in the market.

We have arranged for a power panel of Managing General Agents to provide you with a deeper understanding of the unique role that the MGA plays in the p&c insurance industry. The panel will lead you through what an MGA might encounter in a day, though there are no typical days in the life of an MGA. The last 15 minutes of the Webinar will be dedicated to Q&A with the panel of experts.

Moderator:
Steve Masnyk: Managing Director at CAMGA (Canadian Association of Managing General Agents)
Panel:
Allicia Campbell: Underwriter at Pacific Marine / Focusing on Marine
Samantha Cooper: National Business Development Manager at Trinity Underwriting / Focusing on Professional Liability and D&O
Ian Mitchell: Underwriting Team Lead, Construction at Cansure / Focusing on Sports and Entertainment & Construction
