Through the use of problem-based learning and numerical examples, this interactive half-day workshop will provide you with a sound understanding of business interruption insurance.

  • Analyze and project loss of sales
  • Calculate business interruption losses (profits/earnings as defined)
  • Discuss increase in cost of working (extra expenses) and saved expenses
  • Review ordinary payroll options and payroll coverage issues
  • Examine the application of Coinsurance
  • Forecasting the amount of coverage to purchase
  • Open forum about "red-flag" items – bring your examples!

    Stephen Graff, CPA, CA•IFA, CFF, CFE – Forensic Accountant, Williams & Partners Forensic Accountants Inc.Stephen has extensive experience in financial analysis, economic loss quantification, fraud and financial investigations, inventory and theft losses.

    Bichtar Mahal, BBA, CPA, CA – Forensic Accountant, Williams & Partners Forensic Accountants Inc. Bichtar specializes in the quantification of economic losses relating to business interruption, property damage, inventory and soft costs for both insurance and litigation support purposes.

    Denis Smith, Senior Property Claims Management Specialist, McLarens Global Claims Services.  Denis joined McLarens in October, 2016. He brings with him a proven reputation and expertise in the management and settlement of large, complex industrial, energy and mining losses.
