Your trusted source of insurance education 

Our licensing program provides the education required by the Insurance Council of BC to obtain either a Level 1 Salesperson Licence to sell Autoplan and Homeowner policies or a Level 1 Independent Adjuster Licence to process claims. The course material includes the Insurance Institute’s General Insurance Essentials (GIE) textbooks, but with a single exam for licensing purposes.

Licensing exams are based on the 2018 edition of the General Insurance Essentials C81 & C82 textbooks.

Exam Information:

The level 1 licensing exam is a closed-book test and is two hours in duration.

70% is the minimum grade required to pass the exam. 

The exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions comprised of the following categories and sub-categories:
