The Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC) has launched an insurance-focused portal aimed at helping property and casualty insurance employers and job-seeking candidates fill employment needs across the industry in Canada.

IIC’s Insurance Career Connections division launched the Insurance Careers Platform Tuesday. Insurance Career Connections partnered with Canadian platform service Kibbi Technologies to develop the portal.

“Starting today, insurance businesses and brokers in Canada’s P&C industry, as well as job seekers at any stage of their career, are invited to set up employer and candidate profiles on the Insurance Careers Platform via the Insurance Career Connections website,” IIC says in a press release.

“With the Insurance Careers Platform, we strive to assist our employer partners and the Canadian P&C industry at large in their recruitment needs, while also helping job seekers at various career stages to find a place in insurance,” says Peter Hohman, IIC president and CEO. “Our goal is to consolidate the various aspects of the insurance job searching and hiring journey within this platform.”

Rather than searching for insurance jobs across multiple employment sites, the platform enables candidates to find P&C employers and opportunities in a single place, whether it’s for brokers, agents, underwriters, claims, risk professionals, adjusters, IT or others.

In the Job Board, candidates can follow employer profiles to discover and apply directly for posted roles. In the Talent Directory, users can upload their resume and set up a robust candidate profile for P&C employers to search for appropriate talent and connect with them about job opportunities.

IIC will also soon launch a free mobile app that syncs with the user’s profile activity on the web version. The app allows job seekers to receive SMS and email push notifications from employers about available roles and use the job mapping feature to locate employers with the latest job opportunities in their communities and across Canada.

For insurance organizations and brokers of all sizes, the platform offers offers custom subscription combinations based on hiring needs.

“Ideal for small-to-medium-sized employers, a Pro subscription allows them to establish an employer profile within the portal to showcase and highlight current roles, and communicate directly with interested candidates,” IIC says.

The Enterprise subscription builds on the Pro offerings and allows employers to save time by automatically importing job postings from their company’s existing career pages and collating them directly within the Insurance Careers Platform’s Job Board.

“This feature is valuable for large insurance employers who frequently post jobs in high volumes, and it also enables them to continue tracking candidate applications through their company’s existing [applicant tracking system],” IIC says.
