BrokerLink has expanded its footprint in two provinces with the acquisition of two brokerages in Ontario and one in Alberta.

BrokerLink said in a press release last week it has made deals involving Avergate Insurance Inc. in the Greater Toronto Area, Keyes Insurance Brokers in Gananoque, Ont., and Calgary-based CDM Insurance Brokers Ltd.

The Avergate Insurance deal closed May 1, while the Keyes Insurance Brokers and CDM Insurance deals closed June 1, BrokerLink said in the June 12 release.

With locations in Markham and North York, Avergate Insurance’s industry professionals specialize in high-net-worth personal insurance and comprehensive coverage. They also offer advice for commercial insurance, including construction and cyber insurance. The brokerage also supports local charities through various fundraising initiatives.

In operation since 1926, Keyes Insurance Brokers is a family owned and operated brokerage. It offers specialty commercial and personal insurance products, including home, auto, commercial, boat and farm insurance. The brokerage also remains deeply committed to the community and supports meaningful causes, BrokerLink added.

(Keyes Insurance Brokers is not to be confused with Keyes Insurance, a Halifax-area brokerage offering home, tenant, auto, commercial, boat, motorcycle and recreational vehicle insurance. Earlier this month, McDougall Insurance entered Atlantic Canada following a merger with Keyes Insurance).

Out West, CDM Insurance has focused on customer care for more than 20 years. The brokerage specializes in home, auto, motorcycle, recreational vehicle and boat insurance.

“With these three acquisitions, we’re strengthening our presence in two provinces where we have deep roots, allowing us to serve more customers with insurance solutions, while reinforcing our commitment to supporting Canadian communities,” says BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio. “This growth enables us to expand our expertise, enhance our offerings and build even stronger connections with the people and businesses we serve.”

A subsidiary of Intact Financial Corporation, BrokerLink is one of Canada’s largest P&C brokerages with more than 200 branches and 4,000 employees across the country.

BrokerLink remains active in M&A. Most recently, it acquired three brokerages in Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador: Bankers and Traders Insurance in Edmonton, Aspen Insurance Brokers in Calgary and SeaLand Insurance Corp. in St. John’s.
