For Managers, HR & Organizations
Engaging employees in their career conversations.
Welcome to mycareer, brought to you by the Insurance Institute of Canada. This comprehensive suite of tools and resources is designed to empower industry professionals to advance their careers and map their educational pathways in the property & casualty insurance industry.
The impetus for the development of mycareer stemmed from the recommendations of the Demographic Analysis of the P&C Insurance Industry in Canada 2012 - 2022, from consultation with HR professionals across the country from 2013-15, from focus group work with early career insurance professionals in 2014, and from experience and insight gained through the Institute's Career Connections program promoting careers in insurance to those not yet in the industry.
mycareer is anchored in the belief that empowering and enabling employees to take ownership of their careers can be one of the strongest contributors to fostering a climate of engagement within your organization. This belief is supported by research and experts from Aon Hewitt, the Hay Group, Corporate Leadership Council and Harvard Business Review.
mycareer supports the model that when career development is employee-owned, manager-facilitated, and company-supported, you are signaling to your employees that you are invested in their success, in their insurance careers and on-going professional development.
TIP: Supporting employee career management can help retain talent, support a culture of engagement, and also contribute to the overall success of the business.
