This webinar reviews the cause(s) of ice dams, covers steps to prevent their formation, and discussed mitigation of damage when an ice dam forms. We will also review IICRC standards to determine the categorization of water from ice dams. Topics will include, Ice dam basics, soffit ventilation, prevention, mitigation and water categorization.

Presenter: Wei Chiet Thong
Mr. Thong is experienced in the design of new structures, as well as the repair and retrofitting of existing structures. He has also presented various written technical reports, including rebuttal reports, cause and origin reports, and research and analysis reports for lawyers. Mr. Thong has also presented engineering analyses and reports for the Minister of Municipal Affairs in making decisions on municipal or private claims related to declared disasters during his tenure with the Government of Alberta.

Kirk Alistair Reid
Mr Reid is a Building Consultant with J.S. Held, specializing in the inspection of damaged buildings, estimating the cost of work, determination of Actual Cash Value, and determination of means. With over 17 years of experience working in the construction industry, both in Canada and in Jamaica.
