Alberta 2020 Condominium Regulations - Recovery of Amount of Deductible, Standard Insurable Unit Description and Improvements and Betterments.

This webinar is designed for Condominium Managers, Condominium Board Members, Unit Owners and all Insurance Professionals.

*Attendees should have a basic knowledge of condominium insurance*

Learn the impact of these two new regulations with respect to claims adjudication.  We will review the regulations and the application of both with respect to adjudication of claims for the Condominium Corporation and Unit Owners.

The addition of the Standard Insurable Unit Description (SIUD) regulation is a major step to resolve the claims adjudication process to clarify the separation of the Unit (Corporation's insurance responsibility) versus Improvements (Unit Owners responsibility).

The SIUD Segway's into Unit Owner Improvements and Betterments.  Having an SIUD has no relevance on whether the Board is responsible to insure Improvements and Betterments, this will be discussed in more detail.

The addition of the Recovery of Amount of Deductible regulation is to clearly define the process of assessing the Corporation's policy deductible to the Unit Owner.
