There are a number of people in the workplace who have a strong or forceful personality. This forcefulness can be problematic. These individuals can be a great asset to any team as they tend to be very decisive and typically they are very hard workers. But in some cases, the strong personality can also cause friction with co-workers and can create negative morale and motivation in the workplace.

Many people find this personality type intimidating, and in some cases, they can be difficult to deal with.

These people may be co-workers, customers or suppliers. This course will help you to understand this strong personality type better and give practical skills and techniques to interact with them more positively and more effectively. Or perhaps you are a Manager or Supervisor and have one (or more) of these strong personalities on your team.

Managing, supervising or coaching the strong-willed individual is often one of the greatest challenges for even the experienced manager or supervisor. This course will help you understand this strong personality type better and give practical help to supervise these individuals more confidently and effectively.

Learn the techniques that make difficult people less difficult to deal with.In this half – day seminar we will look at the characteristics and strengths of strong personalities along with the various types of strong personality, including:

  • The forceful, demanding individual
  • Individuals who lack tact and sensitivity when they communicate
  • The loudly negative individual
  • The "my way or the highway" individual
  • The aggressive communicator
  • The emotional communicator
  • The resistant, argumentative individual

The challenges of strong personalities and how these challenges can negatively affect the workplace.

  • Strategies for dealing with the strong willed, aggressive and/or otherwise difficult people.
  • Strategies for managing or supervising difficult staff.
