New Condominium regulations that have been recently released will be reviewed.

Who Should Attend?

This seminar is designed for all insurance professionals who need to enhance their Condominium knowledge as well as Board members and Property Managers. Brokers, underwriters, adjusters, personal and commercial; anyone who deals with Condominiums on a daily basis.

The attendee will be introduced to the fundamentals to help advise Boards and Unit Owners with respect to the unique aspects of insurance as it relates to their needs and the Condominium Act of Alberta. You will receive handout material for future reference. The instruction will be delivered in lead presentation then a claims workshop.

You will benefit from this seminar by being able to:

  • Provide guidance to the Boards and Unit Owners with respect to their insurance needs.

The morning and afternoon sessions will be done in a workshop environment - For your best learning experience please ask questions and particpate in the claims study workshop.


Ken began his insurance career in 1982 in Winnipeg. He has held positions of increasing responsibility (underwriting, policy construction, branch management, broker management, pricing, business analytics, claims interpretation) for major property and casualty Insurers. He spent four years with a commercial broker in Winnipeg.

He became a Chartered Insurance Professional with the Insurance Institute of Canada in 1991 and obtained his certificate in Risk Management in 1994.

He was an instructor for the Insurance Institute of Manitoba for 9 years and is active in the industry as a presenter of many seminars on behalf of the industry groups and associations.  

During the recent catastrophic events in Alberta (2016 fire and 2013 flood) he was the lead at the corporate underwriting level to support claims with policy wording interpretation and strategy. 

His present position is with The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company as the Director, Specialty Lines. He is responsible for Wawanesa's Specialty Lines operations at the corporate level in Canada.
