Give yourself the best chance of success in your RIBO Level 1 or OTL exam. This 10 day course is designed to assist you, new to the insurance industry, to pass the Agent or Broker Basic Level 1 Licensing Exam. The licensing exam will be held on Friday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m.

This is an intensive course and requires you to attend all classes as well as complete at home assignments which will be reviewed in class with your instructor, Margaret McNeil, FCIP.  

Here's what you'll need to succeed:

1.) All the material in the text pack.
2.) Extra paper and a 3" Binder.
3.) Writing essentials such as pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters.
4.) A calculator and anything else you feel is necessary.

Please arrive early for class.

Important Information for those writing the broker exams (this does not apply to Agent (OTL) applications):
You will have to bring with you two passport sized photos. Include your signature on the back of each photo. They do not have to be actual passport photos purchased at Photo Shop. Photos from a photo booth, both color or black and white, will work fine. You will have to bring a current policy records check. A Criminal Records Check must be included with your Application for Insurance Broker’s Individual Registration Form 2A, and must be current within 60 days of your application. There are two types of Criminal Records Check: Regular and Vulnerable Sector. Please obtain a “Regular” Criminal Records Check only. Be sure to apply for the Criminal Records Check well in advance of the course start date. Not all Police or RCMP detachments can provide you with your records check immediately.

Fees:
Students will need to pay the tuition fee, the appropriate exam fee, the appropriate text fee, plus a membership fee (if their membership is not curently up to date).

Tuition fee: $780.00 (+ HST)
OTL Exam fee: $121.00 (+ HST) 
RIBO Exam fee: $180.00 (incl. HST, payable to RIBO)
Textbook fee for Broker kit: $296.00, plus applicable delivery costs and taxes
Textbook fee for Agent kit: $246.00, plus applicable delivery costs and taxes
Membership fee: $95.58 (+ HST)

When completing your course registration online, please note that the fee for the textbooks and exam will not be processed with the online order (only the tuition/membership).
