Through the use of problem-based learning and numerical examples, this interactive half-day workshop will provide you with a sound understanding of business interruption insurance.

  • Determining loss of sales and calculating profits/earnings 
  • Discussing increase in cost of 'working' and 'saved' expenses
  • Examine ordinary payroll options and payroll coverage issues
  • Review the Application of coinsurance
  • Forecasting the amount of Business Interruption coverage to purchase
  • Explanation of extra expense and rental income coverages
  • Open forum about "red-flag" items – bring your examples!

    Stephen Graff, CPA, CA•IFA, CFF, CFE – Forensic Accountant, Williams & Partners Investigative Accountants Inc.Stephen has extensive experience in financial analysis, economic loss quantification, fraud and financial investigations, inventory and theft losses.

    Bichtar Mahal, BBA, CPA, CA – Forensic Accountant, Williams & Partners Investigative Accountants Inc. Bichtar specializes in the quantification of economic losses relating to business interruption, property damage, inventory and soft costs for both insurance and litigation support purposes.

    Denis Smith, Senior Property Claims Management Specialist, McLarens Global Claims Services.  Denis joined McLarens in October, 2016. He brings with him a proven reputation and expertise in the management and settlement of large, complex industrial, energy and mining losses.
