There’s a new regulatory body coming.
How will it impact the insurance industry in Ontario?

Join us for an Insider Panel Discussion –  In-Person Seminar

In November 2016, Ontario’s Minister of Finance announced that the province was proceeding with plans to establish a new Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), as recommended by an advisory committee appointed by the ministry. The over-arching goal of this new body is to foster a more innovative and dynamic business environment. It’s a positive step, but there are changes ahead for Ontario insurance regulation.

Join us to hear from a panel of high-level insiders who will discuss the transition to a new regulatory body and set the stage for the future of Ontario insurance regulation. Although it’s early days yet, the panel will discuss:

- What gave rise to the need for the creation of a new regulator in Ontario

- The likely implementation process of the new regulator

- What the overall future of Ontario insurance regulation could look like

Our panelists:

  1. Leah Myers,
  2. Assistant Deputy Minister, Ontario Ministry of Finance

  3. Karin Ots,
  4. Senior Vice-President, Regulatory and Government Relations, Aviva Canada

  5. Barb Taylor,
