attention and suggestions for marketing plans, dealing with client emotion, and
making sure that you are not exhausted by the process.
Underwriters: Provides tips about
how to communicate with brokers, maintaining etiquette regarding the market
conditions, how to triage files, and optimizing your portfolio
Claims Adjusters: Understanding market forces at play in the insurance
industry, reinsurance issues, and the effect on the insurance industry of hard

Presenter: Karen MacWilliam is a consultant and educator, specializing in risk management and
insurance analysis. She was worked in the insurance and risk management fields
for the past 35 years, and has been qualified as an expert witness in Alberta,
BC, and Nova Scotia. She is a frequent speaker on insurance topics and helps
insurance professionals enhance their technical skills.
