Witness the destructive power
of fire at a live burn! This interactive session is held
in collaboration with the BC-IAAI, International Association of
Arson Investigators. The session involves working with local
police, firefighters and investigators to complete a full fire scene
investigation. Join us for this great opportunity!
Seminar
Objectives
- Learn how to preserve evidence in fire investigation and
why this is important for chain of custody and recovery
- Examine what to do
in fire scenes to investigate fire
- Discuss conviction required for arson
- Identify roles of all parties at a fire scene: firefighters,
officers, investigators, adjuster
- Participate in small groups in fire
scene investigations of burn cells staged for causation – in collaboration
with IAAI attendees (firefighters, officers, and fire investigators)

Observe a live burn demonstration before, during, and after the burn

- This session is only for registered
attendees. No visitors will be permitted.
- Attire: Please dress for the weather
and bring your own PPE if possible (steel toe boots, N95 mask, coveralls or
disposable Tyvek suit). Session will run rain or shine.
- Parking:
Limited space available. Carpool highly recommended. Cars will
be directed on arrival to maximize parking. Please plan to stay on-site
for the day. If you must leave early, please inform us on arrival (note
that this may affect your CE
credit letter issuance). Further details will be sent prior to
seminar.

Please be aware that
tardy arrival or early departure will preclude IIBC from issuing a CE
certificate for this education session.
