A full day
live fire demonstration designed to provide an in-depth understanding of theory
and practical aspects of fire losses.
The day will commence with a
morning presentation from fire dynamics to fire scene protection aimed to
increase subrogation success. The afternoon will consist of live burn
demonstrations of two burn cells constructed to resemble a furnished

- Identify post flashover fire effects on cause
- Compare smoking vs open flame (incendiary) fires
Burn demonstration will include observations and discussion on:
- How long it actually takes for a cigarette to ignite
- How fast fire develops in a normal bedroom
- How to conduct a scene
- How ventilating fires can damage a scene making it challenging to determine the cause
Presentations and demonstrations will be conducted by fire investigators
and forensic engineers with extensive experience in fire investigations and
administering live burns.

-Morning in-class seminar will be in a portable classroom where it may be cold to start in the morning.
demonstration and discussion will be outside for the full 2 hours. Attendees
will be allocated an area at a safe distance to stand to observe the fire.
There's no seating outside .
-Please dress accordingly for the weather (ie. boots, gloves, coat, umbrella).
-Burn demonstration will be conducted rain or shine.
-Detailed directions and parking instructions will be sent prior to seminar.
