Would you like to increase your understanding, efficiency
and effectiveness when working with a fire investigator? If so, join us to learn
the ins and outs of fire investigation from the
initial examination through to
legal ramifications. This seminar
will build on the previously presented material but does not exclude those who
did not attend those sessions.
This seminar will present current
fire investigation techniques and concepts. Methods to maximize the
outcome of a fire scene examination will be identified. The four
classifications of fire will be explained and discussed in order to assist you
when reviewing a fire investigation report. The legal aspects of a fire
investigation will be explored. You will also learn what fire
investigation myths and practices have been found to be scientifically
unsupportable.

from NFPA

PRESENTER: Scott Melville IAAI-CFI©, CFEI, CVFI,
CCFI-C, CFII
Scott is the
principle fire investigator with Triple Sevens Fire Consulting Inc. He
served 22 ½ years as a professional Fire Fighter working in
the Saanich fire suppression and fire prevention divisions. He has been in private
practice as a fire investigator since 2009. Scott has investigated
over 1000 fires involving structures, equipment and vehicles. He
has been accepted as an Expert Witness in BC Provincial and Supreme Courts
in the fields of Fire Cause Determination, Automotive Mechanical Repair and
Personal Property Appraisals. Scott has attained the highest level
of certification with all three major fire investigation associations and
is one of Canada’s only International Association of Arson Investigators
Certified Fire Investigators – IAAI-CFI©.
