The BC Level 1 Licensing GIE one week course option is optimal for:

• newcomers to the industry who have not yet made a definitive career commitment;
• those in junior or support positions seeking an overview of the industry and to further their understanding of policies and claims processes;
• learners who prefer an in-class option supported by an instructor with a quick, immersion type timeline;
• career changers who are looking for an entry-level program in the property & casualty industry.

Examinations for lower mainland students will be held at the Insurance Institute of BC. For out-of-town students registering for this course, please contact Kaitlin Carmichael for options as to the exam date and location.

Licensing exams are two (2) hours in duration and consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. 70% is required to pass. 

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will be eligible to apply to the Insurance Institute of Canada to receive a credit for the CIP course, C11: Principles and Practice of insurance. The cost for this credit is $94.00 plus GST.
