Who Should Attend?
This Webinar is
designed for all insurance professionals.Understand condominium insurance so you can advise Unit Owners and
Boards about the unique aspects of insurance related to their needs within
The Condominium Act (2014) and Regulations (2020) of Alberta.
Objectives:
- Learn the basics of condominium insurance
- Complete review of the new sections of the Act 2014 and the Regulations
2020 specific to insurance
- Receive handout material for future reference

SEMINAR
PRESENTER: Ken De Decker, CIP, CRMKen began his insurance career in 1982 in Winnipeg. He has
held positions of increasing responsibility (underwriting, policy construction,
branch management, broker management, pricing, business analytics, claims
interpretation) for major property and casualty Insurers. He spent four
years with a commercial broker in Winnipeg.
Ken became a Chartered
Insurance Professional with the Insurance Institute of Canada in 1991 and
obtained his certificate in Risk Management in 1994.
He was an
instructor for the Insurance Institute of Manitoba for 9 years and is active in
the industry as a presenter of many seminars on behalf of the industry groups
and associations. Ken is presently a council member with the Insurance
Institute of Southern Alberta.
During the recent catastrophic
events in Alberta (2016 fire and 2013 flood) he was the lead at the corporate
underwriting level to support claims with policy wording interpretation and
strategy.
Ken has recently retired and provides consulting to
industry members.

May 2, 2023 we will dive into more details on the
condo claims process and issues.

CE Credits: 3.5 CE Hours
Please be aware that tardy arrival to or early departure from any
seminar or, in the case of a webinar an incomplete session as a result of
unresolvable technical difficulties, will preclude IISK from issuing a CE
certificate for the seminar.

Participant substitutions accepted up to 24 hours prior to webinar
(substitute must be current member). IISK reserves the right to cancel the
webinar due to unforeseen circumstances.
