Managing Mental Health as an Insurance Professional

Webinar Leader: Stephen Franklin

Mental Health is defined as a person’s condition with regards to their psychological, mental and emotional well-being. Positive mental health is further defined by criteria or characteristics such as those put forth by the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The unprecedented circumstances of the last year and a half have created unusual levels of personal stress, with significant amounts of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA), putting serious pressure on our ability to maintain a positive state of mental health. In this session we look at how to protect or even re-build a positive state of psychological, mental and emotional well-being.

The Key Learning Points are:

- The definition of mental health
- Canadian Mental Health Association’s 5 criteria of positive mental health
- The relationship between stress and mental health
- Coping strategies for dealing with stress
- Impact of negativity on mental health
- Personal negativity assessment
- Strategies for improving our mental health

Research studies provide strong evidence that companies with high levels of mental health awareness are more successful!
