Hasaan Gilani BA (Hons) CIP, CRM | Head of Underwriting (AVP),
Hasaan is currently with Aviva Canada heading the London
Commercial Lines Underwriting branch. After graduating from University of
Saskatchewan in 2009, he began his insurance career as a farm underwriter at an
insurance office in Calgary. He completed his CIP designation in 2014, and has
since been working in various roles within commercial underwriting. One of
Hasaan’s primary goals is to lead a team of direct and indirect reports from all
over Ontario with a high level of engagement, to drive sustainable growth in the

Burke started on the company side of the business in
1982, after taking the insurance program at Mohawk College, enjoying roles in
commercial underwriting and business development. He left the company side in
1989 to join McFarlan Petts as it was known then, as a commercial producer. His
influence has grown over the years, moving into management and the COO role at
McFarlan Rowlands in 2011, becoming CEO in
