RIBO Exam Policies

Examinations are administered during a specified period each month.

Ineligible or incorrect exam

Candidates are responsible to ensure they are eligible to write the exam prior to registering. The exam fee is non-refundable if a candidate writes an exam they are not eligible to write, or writes the wrong exam.

Withdrawal

A candidate may withdraw an exam registration up to 1 business day prior to the exam start time for a full refund. If the request is made after this date, a $50 fee applies.

Rescheduling

A candidate may reschedule an exam booking within the same administration period up to 24 hours prior to the exam start time at no charge. Log in to the Institute's exam portal and select Reschedule.

If the request to reschedule is received less than 24 hours prior to the exam start time, a $50 fee applies.

Rewrite Policy

Candidates are eligible to rewrite within the 8-month period following their first examination per exam provider. Candidates after two failed attempts are subject to an 8-month waiting period following their second failed attempt with the same service provider. Previous attempts prior to May 1, 2021, will not count against the candidate. Exam results will be invalid and will not count towards licensing if an individual attempts any exam(s) more than twice in an 8-month period with any single exam provider. No refunds will be provided for such individuals.

The candidate may request to reschedule the exam within the same administration period OR transfer their registration to the next administration period for a fee of $50. See Reschedule or Transfer.

If you do not contact us prior to the last day of the registered administration period, the exam fee is non-refundable.

Technical issue

If a candidate is unable to write a scheduled exam due to a technical issue related to their own computer system, internet connection, or fails to meet any other system or set-up requirements described on our Virtually Proctored Computer-based Examinations page, the candidate may request to reschedule the exam within the same administration period OR transfer their registration to the next administration period for a fee of $50. See Reschedule or Transfer.

If the candidate is unable to take the exam due to a technical issue arising from the exam platform or proctoring service application, a new booking can be scheduled in the same session, or the exam registration may be transferred to the next month at no charge.

It is the candidate's responsibility to request a new booking or transfer. If you do not contact us prior to the last day of the administration period, the exam fee is non-refundable.

Legal Name

If a candidate is denied access to write a scheduled exam because the name in their account profile does not match the name on their government issued ID, the candidate may request to reschedule the exam within the same administration period OR transfer their registration to the next administration period for a fee of $50. See Reschedule or Transfer.

It is the candidate's responsibility to request a new booking or transfer. If you do not contact us prior to the last day of the administration period, the exam fee is non-refundable.
