About Mike George
Mike is an accomplished senior executive, entrepreneur and board member with over 30 years of experience in starting, building and running successful insurance companies.

A graduate of McMaster University, Mike fell into the insurance industry in 1988 and immediately fell in love with the business. He has held leadership positions at several insurance companies, including London Guarantee and Travelers. In 2006, he founded Trisura Guarantee. Industry recognitions for Trisura during Mike’s tenure as CEO included multiple years on the Growth 500, Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies; Insurance Business Awards, Employer of Choice (2016 and 2017); Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers; Insurance Business Five-Star Carriers and a consistently high employee engagement score well in excess of 90%.

In late 2020, Mike joined Tokio Marine Group of Companies, a global insurance powerhouse, to lead their expansion into Canada. Mike is now CEO of a new greenfield, start-up insurance company, Tokio Marine Canada Ltd. which is currently going through the requisite regulatory process and which Mike expects to be operational in 2022.

Mike is also the proud father of three sons, all of whom have followed in his footsteps in choosing careers in the insurance world, and who have been overheard to say "if Mike can do ok in insurance, then it should be fairly easy."
