Date and Time: February 20, 2019 1 p.m. EST - 2 p.m. EST

In this one-hour webinar, you’ll learn simple ways to help clients understand how climate change is increasing risk and simple ways to help prevent a flood from occurring in their homes, all while earning a CE technical credit.

Climate change is real. Catastrophic natural events are occurring more frequently, and the associated damage and repair costs are also increasing. Community and home development plans are being revised to take new realities into account but there are still actions homeowners can take to further reduce their risk.

  • What can homeowners do outside their homes to reduce risk of flood?
  • What about inside their homes?
  • How can we best prepare to prevent a flood and minimize damage?

This webinar will give you a brief introduction into the human influence on climate change and extreme weather and simple ways to lower basement flood risk.

You’ll leave this session being able to:

- Describe the link between climate change, extreme weather and human activity.
- Explain impacts of extreme weather losses on the P&C industry and individuals who are impacted by an event.
- Explain ways to reduce basement flood risks.

With this new knowledge you’ll be able to help clients reduce their risk, provide effective insurance solutions and minimize losses for insurers while developing your career and business.
