Cambrian Shield Chapter - Insurance Institute of Ontario is pleased to offer students, new to the insurance industry, a convenient yet intensive two week Agent (Other than Life) and Broker (Entry Level 1- "Acting Under Supervision") program.The program is designed to prepare students for the Agent and Broker exam.

The class is instructed by the very successful Lyall Bell, CIP, President, Solutions Training Insurance Resources 

Class times are:
Monday - Friday: 9 am– 4:30 pm

Agent (OTL) and Broker (RIBO) exams will be held on January 31.

Please bring the following for the first day of class:

  • All the material in the text pack
  • Writing essentials such as pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters
  • A calculator and anything else you feel is necessary
  • If you are writing the Broker (RIBO) exam, you will have to bring with you 2 passport sized photos. (Agent (OTL) exam applications do not require photos.)
  • If you are writing the Broker exam, you will have to bring a current "Regular" Criminal Record Check.(Agent (OTL) exam applications do not require Criminal Record Check.)
    The Criminal Record Check must be current within 60 days of your application. Be sure to apply well in advance of the course start date. Not all Police or RCMP detachments can provide you with your record check immediately.

Program Fees:

Tuition fee is $920 + tax. 
Textbook fee $346 + tax

Exam cost is $180.00 for the RIBO exam and is payable on the first day of the program (cheques payable to RIBO).

Students must also be a member of the Insurance Institute so will be asked to pay the yearly membership fee of $105 if not already a member.

The Institute reserves the right to cancel due to insufficient enrollment. Refunds will be issued only for textbooks in umarked condition. Membership fees are non refundable.
