Dr. Farhood Nowzartash

Dr. Nowzartash is a proven leader with a broad and varied
technical background. He is a qualified expert witness in Civil/Structural
Engineering with a specialty in the forensic investigation of complex
construction claims/litigation matters, the standard of care assessment and root
cause analysis. He has over 25 years of experience in structural design and
construction, including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, structural steel,
formworks, and wood structures. He has been an active member in the design
process of multi-story and high-rise buildings, low-rise commercial buildings,
bridges, oil and gas pipelines, sports complexes, stadiums, earth shoring, and
concrete shoring. In addition, he has extensive experience with forensic
investigations, large-scale commercial losses, industrial losses, building
systems, surface water management, structural failure analysis, seismic hazard
assessment, building rehabilitation, and stress analysis of component failures
using Finite Element Modeling. Dr. Nowzartash has extensive knowledge of
building code compliance and assessments in Canada and internationally,
including CSA, OBC, NBC, ACI, and AISC. He has been the lead investigator in
numerous Major and Course-of-Construction losses.
Andrew Ross

Andrew Ross brings more than 30 years of experience in the
insurance restoration and building consulting industry to the role of Building
Consulting Practice Lead.
Andrew shifted his career from Restoration Project
Management to Building Consulting in 2005 and has since been involved in
estimating, damage assessment, construction contract administration, expert
opinion reports, appraisal (both umpire and appraiser roles) and onsite project
monitoring. He has had extensive involvement in numerous major loss assignments
and has consulted on large, complex insurance losses including high-rise
residential and office buildings, apartment complexes and condominiums,
institutional facilities, healthcare facilities, cruise ships, and manufacturing
and industrial facilities. In addition, Andrew has coordinated and executed
large-scale catastrophe responses and liaised with local governments, insurer
groups and NGOs on coordinated disaster recovery projects.
