Successful completion of this course enables you to apply for your level 1 general broker/agent license in Manitoba. Just five days of study will equip you with the practical and relevant knowledge you need to be successful in today’s brokerage/agency setting. After obtaining your broker license, you'll also be eligible to apply for credit toward a CIP designation.

Joanne Hampson, FCIP – Wawanesa Mutual Insurance (Retired)
Joanne was an active member of the P & C industry for over 40 years before retiring from Wawanesa in 2019. Her roles included Personal Lines Underwriter, Sr. Marketing Representative, HR Training & Development Lead, and Commercial Product Training & Development Specialist. Throughout her insurance journey, Joanne has been heavily involved and generously contributed to our local Insurance community, especially the Insurance Institute. She was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors for the Insurance Institute of Canada as the Vice Chair for the Western Provinces. Joanne has been an instructor for our local Institute for many years. and was awarded the Instructor of the Year in 2020. Students will benefit from Joanne’s strong knowledge and extensive experience in personal lines, commercial lines and the P&C industry as a whole.
Nancy Dixon, CIP – Manitoba Public Insurance (Retired)
With more than 41 years of Automobile and P&C Insurance experience, Nancy retired in 2019 from MPI as a Legislative Coordinator. This role involved legislative reviews and providing coverage interpretations to the general public, brokers and adjusters. Previously, she was a Claims Adjuster handling personal lines claims in both auto and homeowner fields. Nancy has stayed connected with the insurance industry and is currently the local Director for the Canadian Association of Insurance Women. Nancy will bring her extensive automobile insurance knowledge and experience to instruct the automobile insurance and MPI-related material in this course
