Membership Fees

Graduating from the Insurance Institute’s Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP)  or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP)  programs qualifies you to join the community of graduates known as the CIP Society. If you are a newly elected CIP graduate, your CIP Society membership is extended free of charge to the next renewal period. As with other association-based designations, you must keep your membership up to date to use your professional designation.

Local Institutes

As a CIP Society member, you must maintain your membership in your local Insurance Institute to remain in good standing.

Member Fees

• The membership year is June 1 to May 31.
• The dues are $105 (plus applicable taxes), in addition to your local institute fee.

The Renewal Process

Each spring, the Insurance Institute issues membership renewal billing to companies who are paying for their employees’ memberships in the Insurance Institute and the CIP Society. If your membership fees are not covered by your employer, you will be billed directly. Renewal notices are sent out via email in May of each year. If we do not have your current email address on file, your notice will arrive via Canada Post.
