Career Planning with mycareer: In-demand skills for the p&c insurance industry

Thursday, May 24, 2018 - 1 pm ET to 2:15 ET

Register for the webinar

Human resource managers and industry leaders are increasingly thinking ahead about the roles and skills that will be in demand in the p&c insurance industry in the future.

How can you better understand these changing roles and skills, and how can you ensure that you're keeping up?

Join Margaret Parent, director of the Professionals’ Division, and Trevor Buttrum, Manager, Career Connections, both of the Insurance Institute, for a discussion about the industry's changing workforce. We will challenge you to critically explore your own skill set in terms of your strengths and experiences, and we will help you develop strategies to keep yourself current, relevant and valuable to your organization and the industry going forward.

This personal exploration and examination of in-demand skills in the industry will be anchored in:

• introducing members to initial outcomes of the 2018 demographic research, including insights into how roles and skills in the industry are changing, and what new roles and skills are in high demand today and into the future;
• identifying members’ core skills and competencies using self-assessment tools available on the mycareer website; and
• identifying skills gaps and establishing strategies to support you with setting goals, articulating and demonstrating a particular skill set, and building skills and an experience profile both on and off the job or through learning and development.
