Automated Vehicles Report Gaining Traction in the Industry!

Since its release in May, the Institute’s second Emerging Issues research Report, Automated Vehicles: Implications for the Insurance Industry in Canada, has been generating discussion around the liability and road safety issues of driverless cars on Canadian roads.

Numerous industry and mainstream media have referenced the Institute’s report as more questions, concerns and events relating to automated vehicles are in the news. The Institute continues to engage in discussions about the research report with members, industry, regulators, and those at the forefront of the introduction of semi-automated and self-driving vehicles in Canada.

As quoted in one publication, “[Automated Vehicles: Implications for the Insurance Industry in Canada, is] one of the finest synopses of automotive autonomy currently available”.

If you have not already done so, please ensure to download your free copy of the report. You can also request printed copies by emailing the quantity to iicmail@insuranceinsitute.ca.

To start the conversation about automated vehicles, the CIP Society hosted a Research Forum on May 25, 2016 and a live National Webinar on June 23rd, 2016. If you missed those opportunities to learn more, there may be more opportunities to join this evolving conversation in the Fall.

In the meantime, you can follow the conversation on Twitter at #automatedishere.
