This FCIP leadership development course provides a comprehensive overview of leadership and examines many of the key challenges faced by leaders in the property and casualty (p&c) insurance industry. Leading in the Insurance World is designed to provide you with essential leadership tools and skills. You will be encouraged to reflect on your current approach to leadership and to integrate what you learn into everyday practice.

Learning Objectives

Upon successfully completing this course, you will be able to do the following:

1. Apply core leadership concepts to the p&c insurance industry.
2. Relate leadership content to your own organizational and professional experience, strengthening understanding, analysis, and decision making.
3. Engage collaboratively with people from other roles and other types of p&c organization to develop a multifaceted understanding of the Canadian p&c insurance industry and enhance virtual collaboration skills.
4. Practise critical thinking skills, evaluating various perspectives and assumptions that impact personal work and the industry.
5. Demonstrate effective written communication skills needed by insurance professionals.
