C70: Gateway to Commercial Insurance
Please
note that the final examination for this course is a computer-based
exam.In this course you will identify,
define, and explain the essentials of commercial insurance. You will review
contextual factors, key stakeholders, and the central elements of crafting
commercial solutions. These concepts are illustrated through descriptions and
scenario-based case studies. Additionally, you will develop the skills to reduce
pain points in the insuring process and to collaborate with insurance
professionals.
Course Note: Before you take C70: Gateway to Commercial Insurance,
we recommend that you have taken course
C11: Principles and Practice of
Insurance, or
have completed the General Insurance Essentials
(GIE) program,
or have two years’ experience as an insurance industry professional
(broker, agent, underwriter, analyst).

on the same textbook as B210 and can be taken as an equivalent credit. Note
that B220 and B230, the second and third courses in the certificate, are currently
only offered in an online
format.
