C37: Special Hazards and Processes (SCM Risk Management Services Inc. text)

This elective will no longer be offered following the December 2017 exam. All rewrites, deferrals, and continued tuition must be completed no later than the December 2018 exam session without exception.

Please note that the final examination for this course is a computer-based exam.

Special Hazards and Processes builds on the discussion of physical risk set out in C36: Building Construction, Fire Hazards and Basic Hazards (SCM text). Again, insurance as such is not discussed. Rather, you will study in detail certain physical phenomena and various processes that may give rise to fires or explosions covered by insurance, and ways of controlling these exposures.

Those in loss prevention and underwriting will benefit most from Special Hazards and Processes. We strongly recommend you take C36 before this elective course.
