C66: Financial Service Essentials—Part 1

This elective will no longer be offered following the December 2017 exam. All rewrites, deferrals, and continued tuition must be completed no later than the December 2018 exam session without exception.

Please note that the final examination for this course is a computer-based exam.

Financial Service Essentials is an introduction to a series of financial services topics; Part 1 primarily deals with life and health insurance. It covers the fundamental elements of the law and insurance as they relate to insurance on the person. The course also explores the need for financial stability, as well as how risks associated with the person can be solved through the use of insurance.

Financial Service Essentials—Part 1 explains applications and policy documentation in the context of underwriting. The basics of how insurance products are priced provide a deeper understanding of how this insurance industry operates. Life and health insurance products for personal and business uses are covered in this course. A framework of government programs is studied, as well, in order to properly assess financial needs.
