Credits & Exemptions

Students enrolled in the CIP Program can apply for credits and may be exempted from taking specific CIP courses upon completion of certain programs.

Credits granted will be recognized as transfer credits only and will not be assigned a grade. This may affect qualification for an Honours CIP certificate and a student’s chance at winning an academic prize.

Credits are available for completion of the following programs:

Insurance Institute certificate programs: Risk Management and Commercial Insurance

Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (CAIB) 

Provincial Agent/Broker Licensing

Wilfrid Laurier University Insurance and Risk Management Concentration

University of Calgary-Risk Management, Insurance and Finance

AEC/DEC Damage Insurance Programs: CIP Recognition of Prior Learning Exam for AEC/DEC Damage Insurance Programs
