Required Care-First education

Access Care-First training for your role and learn how to earn applicable continuing education credits.

Care-First will reshape Alberta's auto insurance landscape beginning January 1, 2027. To support you through this change, we are offering free, mandatory training for agents and brokers and for case managers. Each course is designed to meet the foundational knowledge required for specific roles to operate within the Care-First framework.

Agents and brokers

Care-First for agents and brokers: 15 CE credits

The Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) has designated the agents and brokers course as equivalent to 15 hours of continuing education. To earn the CE credits, you must complete all six topics and achieve a minimum final assessment grade of 80%. Each module includes a quiz to help you prepare for the final assessment. You have two attempts to pass the assessment before you need to repeat the course.

  • Income replacement, financial supports and permanent impairment

AIC

Insurance licensing is overseen by the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) in Alberta.

Care-First Case Manager Education for Adjusters

The AIC has designated the Case Manager Education course as equivalent to 15 hours of continuing education. To earn the certificate of completion, you must complete all five topics and achieve a minimum final assessment grade of 80%. Each module includes a quiz to help you prepare for the final assessment. You have two attempts to pass the assessment before you need to repeat the course.
