Intact Financial Corporation subsidiary BrokerLink continued its acquisition momentum this summer with the completion of four brokerage acquisitions in two provinces.

In Ontario, the company added Insure Exact Insurance Brokers Ltd. to its roster on July 1 and ThinkInsure Ltd. on Sept. 1. In Alberta, it welcomed First Fruits Insurance Services Ltd. o/a BrokerTeam Insurance on Aug. 1 and Costen Insurance on Sept. 1, BrokerLink says in a press release Thursday.

“These four community-based acquisitions bring a mix of best-practices, additional skills and enhanced service delivery to complement BrokerLink’s offering across Canada,” the brokerage says.

Mississauga, Ont.-based Insure Exact Insurance is a family-run business with strong ties to the local community, BrokerLink says in the release. It was founded in 2008 and offers a variety of personal, commercial and lifestyle insurance, including auto, property, watercraft, umbrella, liability, health and travel insurance, among others.

Toronto-headquartered ThinkInsure has been providing Ontarians and Albertans with a comprehensive suite of personal and business insurance, including specialized travel and life insurance solutions, for more than 15 years.

“The team prides itself on its digital leadership, delivering real-time online quotes and a dedicated contact centre experience…,” the release says.

Growth in Calgary

Established in 2014, First Fruits Insurance Services Ltd. o/a BrokerTeam Insurance of Calgary earned its loyal customer base by providing expert guidance, embracing modern technology and building lasting connections within the community it serves. Its team of insurance experts is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, BrokerLink reports.

Costen Insurance, also based in Calgary, has been helping customers with their customized insurance needs since 1987. The brokerage’s products include auto, commercial, motorcycle, property and travel insurance.

“We continue to build our network across the country, aligning with brokerages that share similar values, along with a dedication to employees, community and innovation,” says BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio. “Customer demand drives our strategy and as we enhance our digital offering, our dedication to local communities remains strong and our customers continue to connect with us the way they choose: in person, online or by phone or text.”

The release adds that employees from all four acquisitions will add their extensive local knowledge to the organization and will continue supporting the communities they know and serve as members of the BrokerLink team.

With more than 200 branches and 4,000 employees, BrokerLink is one of Canada’s largest property and casualty insurance brokerages.

It has made numerous acquisitions this year. Beyond the most recent acquisitions, in July the firm announced three acquisitions in different provinces: Newfoundland-based Crosbie Job Insurance, Ontario-based Chris Mellor Insurance Brokers Ltd. and Leibel Insurance Group in Alberta.
