Mould growth in buildings can lead to structural damage, indoor air quality concerns, and potential health risks when left unaddressed. This webinar provides a practical introduction to mould—what it is, how it enters buildings, and the environmental conditions that allow it to grow and spread. Participants will learn how moisture, ventilation issues, and building materials contribute to mould development. The session also examines when mould becomes a concern, including situations where growth may pose health risks to occupants. The webinar further explores mycotoxins and their potential health effects, helping participants understand current research and common misconceptions. Finally, it reviews mould guidelines and industry-recognized abatement methods used to assess, contain, and remediate mould contamination safely. Designed for property managers, insurance professionals, building inspectors, contractors, and environmental health and safety practitioners, this session provides practical knowledge to support effective mould prevention, assessment, and remediation in residential and commercial environments.
