Join Michael Divjak, B.Comm, FCIP, CRM, DKI Miller Business Development Manager, in this 1.5 hour seminar we will take us on a high-level overview of the basic construction principles in a residential home. Here's What We Will Cover: 1) Review the basic design/build elements of home construction. 2) Identify different types of materials and their use. 3)Provide examples and images of construction with some video components. 4) Will show variations of components of building (ex-roof and framing systems) and help to identify the items questioned on a homeowners’ questionnaire form. Quizzes and questions and answers throughout will be included with a final wrap showing a real before and after video of a fire loss. Whether you are new to the industry or a seasoned industry professional, there is always something new to learn about how weather can impact the insurance industry. Mike is a 35+ year veteran of the insurance industry, experienced in Claims Adjustment including large loss and catastrophe claims. Mike has held a number of regional Vice President roles in Claims, Underwriting as well as VP of Business Development for one of Canada’s largest insurers, practicing in the largest insurance regions of the country. He has recently retired (although continuing on part time contract) from the Insurance Institute of Canada where he held the position of Vice President. Currently he also supports DKI Miller, Niagara Regions largest insurance restoration firm as their Business Development Manager.
