DESIGNATION When will I receive confirmation that I've completed the CIP program? You will be mailed a letter from the CEO of the Insurance Institute congratulating you on your achievement approximately six weeks from the date all grades have been released per semester. When can I begin using my designation? As a professional association, the Insurance Institute has a Board of Governors that meet twice annually—once in May for the Insurance Institute of Canada Executive Meeting, and once in October for the Annual General Meeting. At each of these meetings, the board elects new CIP graduates; meaning that after students successfully complete their final exam, they will be “elected” as a graduate at one of these two meetings. Students who successfully complete their exams in the stated exam sessions, are permitted to begin using their CIP designation on the date indicated in the completion letter. DIPLOMA Can my diploma be mailed to me? Your diploma is beautifully framed as a presentable piece to recognize your achievement. To avoid damage to the frame, we do not mail it.
