With an increasingly uncertain economic climate, it’s important that organizations understand the role of D&O liability insurance. This session will provide a high-level overview of a standard D&O policy including a discussion on many of its key concepts, such as duty to defend, allocation, and final adjudication. In addition, recent court decisions will be highlighted to provide in-depth discussion on some of these key concepts in practice. Jordan is a senior Financial Institutions Underwriter for Intact’s Specialty Lines department where she works on D&O, E&O, and FIB coverage solutions for financial institution clients. Prior to this, Jordan worked on the Commercial D&O and Crime team, gaining in-depth knowledge of D&O insurance for a variety of clients. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree and CIP and CRM designations.
Robert is a D&O Practice Leader at Intact Specialty Solutions and has over 20 years’ experience with specialty lines coverages. He is known for his strong technical skills having participated in the creation and drafting of several policy wordings. He is often consulted on coverage issues, but most enjoys underwriting and crafting coverage solutions.
Jonathan is a seasoned insurance lawyer and litigator with experience in a variety of jurisdictions and forums. He has appeared before Superior and Appellate Courts in British Columbia, Ontario, and Manitoba, and clerked with the Caribbean Court of Justice in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. He has also acted as counsel in numerous private arbitrations and mediations.
