Aspire to be the best. Become an FCIP, the industry’s pre-eminent qualification.
Steps to become an FCIP:
- Completion of ten academic courses (three mandatory courses, a choice of one major - consisting of four courses and three elective courses).
- Courses must be taken at Canadian universities to be eligible for an FCIP course credit.
- Register your courses with the Institute.
- Upon successful completion of your final course, if you have maintained membership with your local institute and have abided by the Institute’s Code of
Ethics, your name will be submitted for election as an FCIP in May or October.

With the introduction of the
new track FCIP program, it is important to note upcoming deadlines for the original track of the FCIP program.

Entry to the original track FCIP closes for students
with university degrees - students who have
completed the requirements of the CIP program and
hold a university degree may enrol in the original
track if their first course begins prior to
this date. |

Entry to the original track FCIP closes for students
without university degrees - students who
have completed the requirements of the CIP program
and do not hold a university degree may enrol in the
original track if their first course begins prior
to this date.

Pre-requisite: Students must have obtained a designation from The Insurance Institute of Canada (CIP, AIIC) to register for the FCIP Program.
