Resources for Instructors

The Instructor Readiness Program

The Instructor Readiness Series is an introductory program that covers the main elements of the instructor role and the CIP program. This program has been designed to onboard new CIP instructors into their role. The program is offered online.

Instructor Certification Program

The Instructor Certification Program (ICP) is designed to help instructors build a positive learning environment for a broad spectrum of CIP students using a wide array of contemporary media and teaching approaches.

It is intended for existing and experienced instructors who are looking to upgrade their skills and are seeking out theory and structure that will complement their existing skills. View a list of certified instructors.

ICP consists of four courses, each of which is three months long. The certification can be completed in just over a year. Courses address how people learn; instructional design; evaluation of CIP student progress, and virtual and in-class content delivery.
The course work amounts to roughly two hours each week, allowing the greatest possible scheduling flexibility for instructors.

The ICP program qualifies for various continuing education (CE) hours in various provinces. For more information on this or other ICP program inquires please send an email to

Registration for admission into the ICP program 2015 winter session is now open. The following courses will be offered during the winter session:

• Course One: Teaching and Learning; Theory and Principle
• Course Two: Instructional Design for Significant Learning
• Course Four: The Art of Facilitation

Though courses begin throughout the year, space is limited and we encourage early registration.
