Consumer advertising and BeAssured.ca

As part of our commitment to graduates, the Insitute advertises to buyers of home, car and business insurance. All consumer ads, either print or digital, drive the viewer to BeAssured microsite which promotes the designation to both consumers and trade professionals. We need to impress upon the insurance-buying public the importance of choosing an educated professional who understands the industry and knows how to better meet the needs of their clients.

Your CIP Story as a podcast

CIP Podcast Guest Submissions / “auditions”

The Insurance Institute is developing a short podcast series to promote the CIP designation to consumers, and put a human face on those three initials, CIP. There are four podcast episodes planned, three in English and one in French. These will each be about 10-15 minutes in length and feature a host in conservation with a CIP. The discussion will centre on why the CIP chose to pursue the designation and how it has helped in serving their clients. We’ll also touch on the CIPs role in the community. It will be friendly, casual, and above all, conversational.

The audience for the podcast is the general public, so the orientation of the podcast will be outward towards Canadians rather than inward towards the profession. The podcast will be available on the BeAssured.ca website as well as through iTunes and other leading podcast directories.

We’re looking for CIPs to participate in the podcast series. If you’re interested in being interviewed for one of the episodes, we’d love to hear from you. To audition, all you need to do is record yourself on your smartphone for up to two minutes generally covering the following questions in an easy conversational style:

• How did you get into insurance?
• What made you decide to pursue the CIP?
• How has the CIP changed your interaction with clients?
• Do your clients view you differently because of the CIP designation?
• What else do you do in the community beyond your professional life?

Then just email the MP3 audio file to podcast@insuranceinstitute.ca at IIC. ( Remember this is only an “audition”, not the podcast tape ) If you have an iPhone you can simply use one of the many digital recording apps like “Recorder” to record and then email your MP3 file. We’ll have a listen to the submissions and select three English and one Francophone CIP as the first guests for the CIP podcast series.  Please submit recordings by April 19th.
